CNC Programmer – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a precision tooling company based in Halesowen, who are looking for a CNC Programmer to join their growing team. The successful CNC Programmer will have experience of generating offline programs and ideally have experience with investment casting tooling.

Responsibilities:

  • Required to generate 2 & 3 axis machining strategies using offline CAM software and running them on a Hurco VMC’s.
  • In charge of setting 2-3 axis machinery
  • Your time will be split between the CAD office & the shop floor.
  • Own desk & PC in the CAD office and a bench on the shopfloor to house your tools.
  • Working with highly skilled engineers who will help & support you as you settle into the role. We work as a team and support each other.

About You:

  • 3 Years minimum experience using offline CAM software
  • 5 Years minimum experience in a toolroom environment
  • Milling, Turning, Grinding, Bench Fitting
  • Experience setting Hurco VMC’s and using Winmax controls
  • Punctual
  • Happy to work in a team under instruction or alone
  • Be flexible & willing to learn new methods of manufacturing as well as sharing experience
  • Experience in cutting different materials such as Aluminium, Steel(s), Brass, Model Board, Graphite, Copper
  • Experience using OneCNC XR7 CAM software
  • Experience using Fusion 360 CAM software
  • Experience using NCG CAM software
  • Experience using HyperMill software
  • Experience using PowerMill Software
  • Experience of machining / assembling investment casting tooling, including wax injection tooling, ceramic core tooling, wax & ceramic core reformers, chill & runner tooling, all associated fixturing for wax, core & cast processes within the investment casting sector.
  • Experience in using Sodick EDM (AG60L)
  • Experience in die fitting & polishing (to mirror finish)
  • Experience using XYZ Proturn lathe
