CNC Programmer – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading manufacturer based in Tamworth, who are looking for a CNC Programmer to join their growing team. The successful CNC Programmer will have experience of generating programs at the machine.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting datums on a range of CNC machines
  • Clocking in vices
  • Setting speeds, feeds, and tooling
  • Programming online with a combination of conversational and G-code controls.
  • Working from detailed drawings and operating according to geometric tolerances.
  • Use of Autodesk Fusion 360 for complex jobs.
  • Setting equipment properly and in accordance with company measures.
  • Checking ‘first-offs’
  • Ensure the machine tools or equipment are used to a high standard and noting broken or damaged tools for corrective action purposes.
  • Ensuring cleanliness is maintained during the working shift.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, all company held standards, policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Comply with the company’s code of conduct and policies contained within the company’s employee handbook at all times, coaching and leading in compliance at all times.

About You:

  • Programming experience (preferably online and offline)
  • Experience of Mazak, Heidenhain, Fanuc or Siemens an advantage
  • Setting up tools in the machines, previous knowledge of different materials
  • Knowledge of H&S procedures in a manufacturing setting
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
