CNC Service Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading global Machine Tool Manufacturer who are looking for a CNC Service Engineer to join their growing team, covering The UK & Ireland. The successful CNC Service Engineer will have experience in a similar role, working with 4/5 axis machines and have experience of PLCs.

Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Service Manager
- Install, commission and service 4/5 axis horizontal CNC machines
- Scheduled maintenance of horizontal machines and associated automation in accordance with internal servicing standards
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance and PLC fault-finding / Automation integration
- Regularly visit customer sites to service/repair machines whilst building and maintaining an excellent working relationship
- Provide technical support to customers/colleagues concerning the G-Module range of machines and automation
- Participate in Hotline support and emergency support as required
- Provide customer guidance with regards to best working practices to look after their machine/s
- Ensure all health and safety practices are observed according to rigorous internal/customer standards
- Provide clear reports detailing work undertaken at the customer’s site
- Plan own travel and accommodation as and when required
- Keep up to date with the machine range/options, and attend training when required at parent facility in Germany
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- Time served apprenticeship or similar qualification. Multi-skilled with strong electrical/PLC skills
- Full UK Driving licence
- British & or European Passport
- Knowledge of Siemens 840D sl control/ Step 7/ WIN SCP/ HMI Pro
About You:
- You will be multiskilled, either 50/50 or with an electrical bias
- You will have experience and knowledge of Siemens software / apps
- Able to understand, follow and interpret mechanical and electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic electrical drawings/diagrams.
- Skilled in using hand tools, precision measuring tools and have a good understanding of machine geometry.
- Computer literate and competent using MS Office / 365 (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Honest and conscientious, with a positive, cooperative, and willing attitude, keen to serve the company’s customers, and keen to learn and demonstrate they can work on their own initiative and take responsibility and ownership of problems as they arise.
- Punctual, have good time-management skills, and be clean and tidy.
- Willing to travel (often at short notice) all over UK (and possibly abroad) and stay overnight for several days if required to complete works in a timely fashion.
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking the works required.
- Have good written and oral communication skills.
- Complete all paperwork in an efficient and timely fashion.
- Take care and pride in their work, always delivering to the highest standard of workmanship.
- Aways work to a high standard of conduct and courtesy.
- Have a methodical approach to fault finding and solving complex problems.
- Have an appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Comply with safe working practises (including customer specific requirements) and assist with and understand Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Provide the highest level of customer service and be always professional and presentable.
- Uphold the highest level of confidentiality, particularly in the presence of Non-Disclosure agreements
- Support and assist colleagues whenever required.
- Work overtime, outside of normal working hours, including some weekends.
- Respect and maintain company property, equipment and tools provided, to the highest standard.
