CSR & Sustainability Manager – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading medical devices client based in Oxford, who are looking for a CSR & Sustainability Manager to join their growing team. The successful CSR & Sustainability Manager will have experience of managing sustainability, CSR, or similar programmes as well as an understanding of relevant legislation, certification standards e.g., B-Corp, SBTi, Race to Zero.

Responsibilities:
- Provide advice to all business areas on key elements of our sustainability strategy, with a continuous improvement mindset, and ensure that technical and sourcing teams are equipped with the correct frameworks and insight to deliver value chain GHG reductions
- As Chair of the company’s Environmental Steering Group, this role will champion the creation of a coordinated roadmap to achieve our sustainability vision and support its implementation
- Identify and monitor developments in global standards such as the GHG Protocol for sustainability analysis methodologies across scopes 1-3
- Definition and implementation of processes allowing monitoring of relevant data using our existing materials management system
- Validate and manage our environmental data sets for scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions
- Provide real-time data to sites enabling improved visibility of information relevant to environmental objectives in support of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) strategy
- Collaborate with colleagues across the global business to drive sustainability performance and ensure accurate and relevant information is available for the end of year Responsible Action Report and other reporting requirements UN Global Compact Reporting, B-Corp etc
- Support local and community environmental initiatives designed to assist with organisational goals
- Act as an internal and external sustainability thought leader, a subject matter expert to help deliver communications programmes and be the OM ambassador at various external venues such as UN Global Compact meetings
- Support the Group Marketing team with relevant statistics and insight to deliver data-rich content for high impact marketing communication campaigns
About You:
- Experience implementing and driving sustainability improvements in a product-oriented organisation
- A detailed understanding of relevant processes such as manufacturing, product design, life cycle assessment, and supply chain
- Experience of managing sustainability, CSR, or similar programmes as well as an understanding of relevant legislation, certification standards e.g., B-Corp, SBTi, Race to Zero
- Experience defining science-based targets, data gathering, measuring, reporting, and communicating climate impact.
- Knowledge of sustainability considerations beyond climate change
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, working to challenging targets and deadlines
- To be achievement and action orientated, with the ability to take initiative, generate action in self and others, prioritise and deliver against demanding goals, meet delivery expectations of senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication/presentation skills with a continuous improvement mindset
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in relevant subject area such as environmental science/studies
