Director of MDF Sales – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading global manufacturer who are looking for a Director of MDF Sales to join their growing team. The successful Director of MDF Sales will have at least five years of experience of working within MDF business capacity with a demonstrated track record of business growth, as well as OSB, Particle Board or MDF Sales experience.
Salary: $150,000 – $215,000

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for meeting US sales targets, forecasting, and profit for MDF/HDF (medium density/high density fiberboard) Business.
- This is a component supplier-based sales role; it involves 100% selling products where another party’s value is added to get to the finished goods.
- Working closely with the VP of Sales and Business Development on range development best suited for factory optimization and profit.
- Set, support, and achieve yearly objectives in coordination with the EVP of Sales.
- Oversee the launch of new strategically essential products while maintaining long-standing relationships
- Develop long-term relationships with merchant and supply chain teams
- Works on complex sales negotiations and articulates in sales presentations
- Understands market complexities in terms of product assortment, pricing, mix, and emerging category developments
- Actively manages the day-to-day business operations for external MDF Sales
- Optimize opportunities within company manufacturing capabilities
- Employ a strategic approach focused on sales performance to budget and optimize the mix
- Leads regular sales meetings and training
- Manages gross to net programs, deductions, and other investments
- Executes objectives, policies, and programs to accomplish goals
- Prepares and updates sales forecast/monitors and adjusts with Demand Planning internally and with the customer
- Maintains Broad knowledge of company products and the overall MDF industry
- Provides monthly/quarterly analysis of sales results and works with the organization to adjust where necessary to achieve budget
About You:
- 5+ years’ experience working within MDF business capacity with a demonstrated track record of business growth. We will only consider applicants with OSB, Particle Board, or MDF sales experience.
- Relevant “supplier-based sales” experience with extensive program management.
- Practical analytic skills and forecasting principles.
- Strong financial acumen
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to foster cross-functional relationships.
- Systematic problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Innovative competency – thinks creatively with foresight and acts strategically.
- Global travel as needed, monthly travel to customer and factory required.
- College Degree or professional experience equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of raw board business and overall MDF/Particleboard US landscape
- Strong skill set in the use of Office suite (Excel) (Word)
- Data analysis – collect, organize, and interpret data
- Organization and creative copywriting skills
- Experienced in utilizing various software systems for sales tracking, copy development, and editing, Microsoft 356 Suite, and project management software
- Practical verbal and written communication skills
- Project management
- Firm understanding of sales principle

- Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills
