We’re supporting our client, a leading global machine manufacturer based in Chandler, Arizona who are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Electrical Engineer will have experience in electrical design and application within the industries of industrial machinery, construction equipment, automotive or aerospace.
Salary: $100,000 – $125,000 + yearly/quarterly bonus

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Equipment Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for all equipment related electrical and software development, research, design, testing, application and improvement. The position will use 2D and 3D CAD Modeling software to develop electrical designs and drawings/ schematics for wiring harnesses, control systems, electric drive components, electrical connectors and related systems using verbal instructions, customers specifications, sales staff and other Engineering data. The position will also use programming software for the improvement and development of PLC’s and user interface design that integrate with and control the equipment’s functions.
Responsibilities:
- Make various drawings using Solid Edge 3D and AutoCAD 2D software following standard manufacturing and engineering procedures.
- Design new products as assigned by the Equipment Engineering Manager.
- Design, test and implement new and/or improved wiring harnesses for machinery.
- Design, program, integrate and test PLC and/or HMI control systems to control the equipment’s functions.
- Integration, development and programming of robotic systems.
- Follow the product life cycle from research and design to prototyping and testing to implementation in production, and to the final state of performance in the field.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers and internal personnel.
- Specify correct materials within the scope of standard stocking inventory.
- Update existing drawings as necessary due to changes in design or manufacturing requests.
- Complete Engineering change notice and circulate documentation as needed.
- Complete all phases of drawings and schematics from small detailed parts to large assemblies.
- Reduce costs and waste on existing and new designs.
- Work on Operator Manuals, both new and existing or other literature as needed by the Equipment Engineering Manager.
- Develop and maintain part numbers with all necessary information in order to purchase, make and use the parts.
- Enter and update Bills of Material and Manufacturing Routes in SAP manufacturing software.
- Provide monthly project update reports.
- Develop and present quarterly project presentations.
- Maintain a neat, clean, organized and safe work space.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and training.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as required by the Equipment Engineering Manager.
- Limited travel to customer location to provide assistance.
- Be able to travel internationally in rare cases that it might be required.
About You:
- Possess an Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent from a minimum of 2 years in college or trade school, but 4 years is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and application within the industries of industrial machinery, construction equipment, automotive or aerospace.
- Must have knowledge of wire harness and connection design as well as implementation experience.
- Must have experience with Human Machine Interface/Programmable Logic Controls and related software programming. It is desirable to have knowledge on IEC61131 standards, Sequential Function Chart (SFC), Structured Text (ST) and Ladder (LDR) languages.
- Experience with ERP or MRP software, (preferably SAP) is preferred.
- Must be proficient with typical office computer operations and programs including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Must be proficient with 3D CAD software. Solid Edge is preferred, but Solidworks or the equivalent is acceptable.
- Must be a self-starter and have good time management skills.
- Must have strong communication and people skills.
- Must have ability to prioritize and multitask effectively, and work responsibly with or without direct supervision, with exceptional attention to detail and quality.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening and random drug screening.
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record and ability to be a listed driver on company insurance
- Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
