Estimator – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading global equipment manufacturer based in Anderson, South Carolina who are looking for an Estimator to join their growing team. The successful Estimator will have experience of working within a high-volume metal manufacturing environment.

Job Summary:

Candidate will be responsible for the development of all costs to provide job quotations to the customer. This role will interact with the sales team, department heads, engineering and management to evaluate, and understand the needs and requirements of the customer and ensure feasibility using the resources available.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming RFQ specifications, Check Blueprints and related documents to prepare pricing and timing estimates.
  • Review stamping process and related outside cost.
  • Work with management team (scheduling, QC, toolroom, engineering and production) as needed to determine if customer requirements can be met.
  • Identify and work with outside vendors through the purchasing department to gather cost for raw materials and processes not performed in-house.
  • Analyze labor, material and time requirements.
  • Communicate and obtain deviations if needed.
  • Process purchase orders.
  • Set up new customers and new parts.
  • Update job quote/cost of existing projects to reflect revision changes.

 

About You:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience estimating metal stamping and fabrication products.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes used in metal stamping and fabrication including stamping using mechanical presses, tooling, fixtures, welding, painting and coatings.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints, purchase orders, process work instructions and other related documents.
  • Excellent high level math skills used in computing material weights, material requirements.
  • Proficient using computers – Microsoft Office (AutoCad/Solidworks a plus)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust work day and work week according to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate directly with customers.
  • Willing to assume other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
