Shift Pattern: weekends – Friday, Saturday, Sunday (0600-1800)
We’re supporting our client, a leading manufacturer based in Hereford, who are looking for a Fabrication Engineer / Plant Fitter to join their growing team. The successful Fabrication Engineer / Plant Fitter will have experience of fabrication work, welding, building and strip down of machinery.
Responsibilities for Fabrication Engineer / Plant Fitter:
- The work in general will be the planned maintenance and repair of processing equipment
- Demonstrate good safety behaviours in the workplace; ensure all rules / standards and procedures are adhered to at all times; wear correct personal protective equipment.
- Fabricate a range of assembly types to specification, working from fabrication or engineering drawings
- Produce high quality parts in high variety and volume in a target-driven environment
- Carry out fabrication inspections, identify defects and take appropriate action to rectify them
- Meet production targets while maximising efficiency
- Ensuring the safe and controlled movement of production parts
- Work as part of a team to develop continuous improvement ideas
- To perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required to ensure successful delivery of all ongoing works within the company workstream
- MIG and ARC welding experience and advantage
- Build and strip down of machinery / equipment
About You:
- A flexible ‘can do’ approach to problem solving is, as the role encompasses a range of engineering disciplines including, welding, fabrication, use of machine tools, Lathe, milling machine. There may also be a requirement for steel erecting.
- Candidates would be expected to hold a recognized engineering qualification such as NVQ, city and guilds, BTEC. A knowledge of Hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be an advantage.
