We’re supporting our client, a leading plastics manufacturer based in Worcester, who are looking for an Injection Moulding Technician to join their growing team. The successful Injection Moulding Technician will have experience of setting, troubleshooting & optimising injection moulding machinery.
Position Overview: As Injection Moulding Technician, you’ll be setting up production runs and support the Lead Technician in the execution of production duties.
Responsibilities for Injection Moulding Technician:
- To prove and optimise, where necessary, new & existing production tooling & machines to achieve Right First Time and Just in Time manufacture of plastic components using advanced moulding techniques.
- Support the team to maintain and improve the acceptable level of production and quality in accordance to Standard Work.
- To support continuous improvement efforts by taking a positive approach in the Injection moulding team.
- Use techniques and methodologies such as 5S, TPM, Quality, Poka-yoke OEE, Process SPC, Tool Optimisation to do this
- Set up production runs, to 1st off inspection, carry out relevant quality checks where designated & optimise moulding cycle where applicable
- Recommend any possible improvements to support the drive OEE throughout the Injection Moulding Area and achieve a world class status in excess of 83% on all machines
- Support Lead Technician in the execution of production duties with the team
- Adhere to company policies and regulations & maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations and in accordance with TS16949 quality system procedures
- Ensure all planned maintenance at levels 1 & 2 on machine moulds is carried out in a timely manner
- Ensure the correct use & identification of all polymer materials using the equipment available & support set-up & capture of designated regrind components for granulation
- Train personnel, where applicable, in all moulding and ancillary machinery
- Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Production Supervisor
About You:
- IMT Level 3 Pass
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Injection Moulding
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
