We’re currently supporting our client, a global solutions manufacturing business, based in Winsford, Cheshire, who are looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to join their team. The successful Maintenance Coordinator will be time-served with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Position Overview: As a Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll be a vital part of the operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of equipment and facilities. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and optimising the machinery, contributing to efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities for Maintenance Coordinator:

  • Ensuring that maintenance activities are coordinated and deployed to the maintenance technicians in the most effective manner for the benefit of the business – including but not exclusive to – routine and schedule work, breakdown resolution, supply of maintenance and equipment spares, parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Ensuring that contractor and service provider activities are coordinated in accordance with maintenance schedules.
  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of servicing and maintenance work of machines and equipment. You will also be asked to cover for mould maintenance technicians carrying out coordination or asset care activities as required.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and submission of reports and data to support monitoring and analysis of machine, equipment and resources including labour deployment and efficiency.
  • Responsible for the coordination of training and development of activities for the maintenance team and others identified to develop cross functional skills to facilitate upskilling and flexibility across the workforce.

About You:

  • Numerically and literally competent
  • Time Served Apprenticeship.
  • C&G Parts 1&2
  • NVQ Level 3
  • 18th Edition desirable
  • Reading & understanding of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings
  • Hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical knowledge (fault finding, maintenance etc).
  • PLC knowledge – programming and fault finding
  • Knowledge of automated equipment
  • PC Packages
  • CNC Robotics desirable
  • Plant Services i.e. Pumps, Air Compressors & Water Chillers
  • Lifting and slinging.
  • Hand Tools
  • Basic machine shop knowledge
  • Welding (Gas & Arc)
  • Personal protective equipment applicable to the area, environment, and process of work.

Experience in some or all the above equipment usage is desirable:

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to continuously improve the way they work.
  • Must be professional and confidential in dealing with all employees and can deal with difficult situations calmly and objectively.
  • Able to work well unsupervised and demonstrate initiative.
  • Confident dealing with individuals at all levels in the organisation.
  • Ability to change priorities and re-set deadlines to meet the changing needs of the line / department / internal customer.
  • Able to change direction quickly, meet deadlines etc. and maintain a stable performance whilst under pressure and / or opposition.
  • Can prioritise own work, making choices between urgent and important and accepting responsibility for the outcomes.
  • Communicates clearly to the level of the audience, checking to ensure that messages have been received and understood.
  • Must be self-motivated, with the ability to also boost the performance of others.
  • Must have the ability to encourage others to buy into team objectives and take ownership for results.
  • Able to train or transfer own knowledge to others.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with individuals and teams.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make decisions where necessary taking into consideration all relevant and available information.
  • Task orientated individual, a completer finisher.
  • Able to coordinate the work of several Maintenance Engineers, making choices between urgent and important and accepting responsibility for the outcomes.
