Job Description

Maintenance Engineer 

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake planned preventative maintenance activities and reactive maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of the plant and profitability
  • To ensure all engineering tasks are undertaken in line with Health & Safety and Quality
  • Provide full emergency breakdown cover for all injection moulding machine. Robots and services
  • To efficiently carry out repair works to the highest standard
  • Complete all work sheets and report any follow ups required, including Planned Maintenance work sheets and handover back to manufacturing
  • Observe and report all problem areas on all plant and services
  • Work as a team with all other members of the factory team
  • Maintain a high standard of work and promote good housekeeping throughout the factory and workshops
  • To always ensure that Health and Safety issues are treated with the highest priority at all times.
  • Administer, monitor, analyse and update machine history data using the Companies management system
  • Provide first line cover in all machinery problems
  • Be proactive with ideas for improving the plant and engineering departments

About You:

  • The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will hold an Engineering qualification, ideally along with 16th / 17th Edition
  • You will be a time served multi skilled Maintenance Engineer with electrical knowledge and experience of working in a team-orientated, process environment
  • A strong manufacturing background is essential, with a proven background in PLC fault finding
  • Good communication skills
  • Can demonstrate a ‘hands on’ approach
  • Good problem solving / fault finding techniques
  • Ability to be able to work unsupervised
  • Attention to detail and commitment to completing all works first time to the highest standard, thus eliminating repeat visits
  • Able to work under pressure

Qualifications

  • A formal qualification in an engineering discipline
  • A full apprenticeship or other relevant occupational training
  • Must be able to demonstrate an aptitude and passion for engineering
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy
  • PC literate
  • Good analytical skills
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
  • Relevant experience gained within the injection moulding industry
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Shows and understanding of the need to work safely – and the implications of not doing so
  • Able to work well with other people as part of a team
  • Able to demonstrate examples of implementing solutions to reoccurring problems and suggesting proactive ideas
