We’re supporting our client, a leading global Storage components manufacturer based in Banbury, who are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Engineer will have experience of resolving maintenance issues, rectifying breakdowns and troubleshooting.
Position Overview: As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll manage the day-to-day issues within the department to resolve maintenance issues and breakdowns, plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules and work closely with production personnel to ensure equipment/plant usage/efficiency is maximized, without compromising safety or quality.
Responsibilities for Maintenance Engineer:
- Troubleshoot and solve where possible machine and site breakdowns.
- Ensure maintenance records are maintained.
- Liaise with suppliers when external expertise is required to maintain site or machines.
- Responsibility for all stock replenishment of spare parts and consumables whilst working within predetermined budgets.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure stock availability of critical parts.
- Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
- Continuously review the maintenance plan for optimal usage of labour and reduce machine downtime costs.
- Together with Production Manager plan preventative maintenance schedules for all machinery and ancillaries.
- Undertake planned maintenance programs and review task and frequency to ensure that all machinery and ancillaries receive the optimum maintenance.
- Ensure all statutory inspections, testing and certification is undertaken on time and adequate records are maintained.
About You:
- Have a good appreciation and experience of organisation of shop floor work processes and priorities.
- Will have a time served, high level, technical expertise of modern machinery, with Injection Moulding machines necessary.
- Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Be able to take personal leadership to develop and promote fundamental disciplines and principles through cross-functional team building.
- Be highly self-motivated, demonstrate passion, and be a team player with a flexible and ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
- Be well organised and adhere to administrative procedures to ensure that records are accurate and accessible to other members of the team in any absence and allow a full audit trail.
- Possess and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels of the organisation including senior management and at senior stakeholder level within our trade partner base.
- Possess a technical aptitude to understand and convey product knowledge through business competency.
- Be strongly analytical and display critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Demonstrates and actively promotes company values.
- Always working safely in accordance with company Health and Safety procedures and relevant risk assessments.
