Manufacturing Manager – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading global equipment manufacturer based in Warsaw, Indiana who are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to join their growing team. The successful Manufacturing Manager will have experience of working within a high-volume metal manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Responsible for planning and executing production plan on a daily/weekly and monthly basis.
  • Responsible for plant production, meeting customer requirements and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities.
  • Ensure the target productivity level is achieved on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for on time deliveries to customers.
  • Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding throughput of stock to ensure production targets and strategic needs are met
  • Drive and monitor Overall Equipment Efficiency [OEE], create and deploy actions to improve plant efficiency by appropriate data analysis.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
  • Management of capacity reviews, assessing bottlenecks in terms of manpower and equipment capacity.
  • Management of equipment maintenance functions to ensure smooth running of machinery & plant.
  • Management of quality functions to ensure smooth running of quality department and responsible for customer quality levels.
  • Coordinate Just In Time activities
  • Implement and coordinate quality management systems.
  • Periodic reviews and reporting to top management.
  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
  • Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess on-going performance of direct reports.
  • Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
  • Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within area of accountability.
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
  • Hiring and training of shop floor employees.
  • Motivate and coach the team to operational success.

About You:

  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement tools (Lean and/or 6 Sigma certification preferred)
  • Excellent communications skills – Verbal & Written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, Power point
  • Strong organizational & planning skills
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing management experience
  • Metal based manufacturing experience.
