We’re currently supporting our client, a market-leader and global manufacturer, based in Winsford, Cheshire, who are looking for a Mould Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. The successful Mould Maintenance Technician will have experience of co-ordinating mould officer duties and asset care (TPM) for maintenance of moulds and associated equipment and ancillaries.
Position Overview: As a Mould Maintenance Technician , you’ll be a vital part of operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of equipment and facilities. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and optimising a range of machinery, contributing to efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities for Mould Maintenance Technician :
- Working with the CI Manager, Manufacturing Manager and Chief Engineer, the role is responsible to implement Asset Care Strategy and training Program within the mould maintenance team.
- Working with Group colleagues to manage the mould and associated assets; including system accuracy of mould data, transfer of moulds, and associated equipment.
- Ensuring the integrity of the company’s assets in transit.
- Collaborating with design teams to support the introduction and modification of moulds through supporting and adhering to toll gate rules, FMEA’s, sampling processes, results and report submissions.
- Maintain Asset Care KPIs for moulds and associated assets equipment and introduce to SAMS Level meetings accordingly.
- Support the Asset Care process via pillar methodology.
- Responsibilities will include supporting the CI Manager with role out of Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Focused Improvement (FI), Planned Maintenance (PM), and Early Equipment
- Management (EEM) including associated training.
- Co-ordinate the AM Pillar for Maintenance.
- Provide support to the autonomous work groups aimed at KPI improvements and assist the autonomous work groups’ development through TPM Pillars and mentoring.
- Co-ordinate the deployment of the PM Pillar in maintenance.
- Provide support to the maintenance work groups and maintenance system development.
- Build capability in the PM team to effectively plan, schedule, and execute work; install and sustain the downtime reduction.
- Co-ordinate the deployment of the Focused Improvement pillar and help drive a team-based and data driven culture.
- Utilise and analyse data to make informed decisions that help support business needs.
- Co-ordinate the deployment of the Early Equipment Management Pillar
- Ensure that Health & Safety is maintained as the number one priority for all activities undertaken by the post holder, in line with company policy.
About You:
- Numerically and literally competent
- Time Served Apprenticeship.
- C&G Parts 1&2
- NVQ Level 3
- Injection moulding tool making/maintenance experience/knowledge
- Reading & understanding of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic & mechanical drawings Hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic & mechanical knowledge (fault finding, maintenance etc).
- Precision machining skills an advantage
- Knowledge of automated equipment
- PC Packages
- CNC desirable
- Plant Services i.e. Pumps, Air Compressors & Water Chillers
- Lifting and slinging.
- Hand Tools
- Welding (Gas & Arc)
- Personal protective equipment applicable to the area, environment, and process of work.
Experience in some or all the above equipment usage is desirable.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to continuously improve.
- Must be professional and confidential in dealing with all employees and have the ability to deal with difficult situations calmly and objectively.
- Can work unsupervised and demonstrate initiative.
- Confident dealing with individuals at all levels in the organisation.
- Ability to change priorities and re-set deadlines to meet the changing needs of the line / department / internal customer.
