Mould Process Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, leading global Automotive equipment manufacturer based in Telford, who are looking for a Mould Process Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Mould Process Engineer will have experience of Injection Moulding Processes, Machinery and quality.

Responsibilities:
Safety & Environmental
- Ensure all equipment adheres to Company procedures and EU standards.
- Follow and promote safe working in line with safety policies to achieve Company H&S KPI’s.
- Ensure all contractors are managed in line with Company procedure.
Quality
- Strong injection moulding processing knowledge to enable support to the manufacturing areas on the occurrence of processing problems such as customer concern, scrap and defect.
- Ensure the specification of processes to help drive the Company to achieve <1 PPM
- Clearly define process controls and ensure they are implemented fully.
- Working knowledge of quality tools e.g., PFMEA and Process Control Plans.
- Support customer visits with equipment demonstration.
- Generate manuals and training for new processes and equipment.
- Prepare and present materials to cross functional teams and senior managers including new project gateway release.
Delivery
- Project manage new process implementation schedules and ensure these are met to deliver the maturation level or process at the correct timing.
Cost
- Maintain capacity and factory layout plans to optimise material flow.
- Contribute to operation ratio improvement of machines and processes to increase machine availability.
- Define long term Kaizen plans and monitor achievement.
- Implement Engineering Changes within the manufacturing process.
- Assess the impact of Engineering Changes to process and implement changes.
- Conduct capability studies on new and existing products and processes.
- Co-ordinate the introduction of new products and processes through trial builds and training.
Human
- Contribute to your own self-development to ensure your knowledge is at the forefront of engineering.
- Willingly share process knowledge with the mould team to create sustainable organisational structure.
About You:
Essential
- Demonstrable knowledge of polymer technology, processing and injection moulding processes.
- Ability to understand and implement process control in a fast paced manufacturing area.
- Previous experience of defect / scrap reduction.
- Ability to perform and analyse capability studies.
- Ability to lead cross functional improvement teams.
- Operation ratio data analysis.
- Risk management and assessment
- High level of numerical and analytical ability.
Desirable
- Professional qualification (HND, Degree) in relevant discipline.
- Experience of automotive manufacturing standards.
- Experience of hot plate welding & 2K elastomer processes.
- Working knowledge of H&S legislation e.g. PUWER, British Standards etc.
- Ability to specify, procure, project manage and install injection moulding machinery and associated services and processes.
