Mould Toolmaker – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading global manufacturer based in Telford, who are looking for a Mould Toolmaker to join their growing team. The successful Mould Toolmaker will have experience in Repairing, modifying and maintaining mould tooling.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairing, modifying and maintaining all existing production tooling
  • Operating all toolroom plant and machinery safely
  • To continually review working methods and make suggestions or improvements to tooling or processes
  • Log any completed tool maintenance and repair work using the systems and databases
  • Ensure correct marking and labelling of tools
  • Advise on design and manufacture of any new mould tooling
  • React to break-downs and quality issues using diagnostic skills to identify and rectify problems quickly and effectively
  • To support continuous improvements in manufacturing processes, design and development of equipment, contributing to relevant activities

About You:

  • Have plastic injection mould tool experience in a similar role.
  • Be qualified to HNC/ONC in Mechanical Engineering or be an apprentice trained toolmaker with 5 years proven.
  • Industry experience within plastics/injection moulding is essential.
  • CNC, CAD/CAM experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with hot runner systems/valve gates and manifolds would be advantageous.
