Moulding Engineer – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading technology manufacturer based in Telford who are looking for a Moulding Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Moulding Engineer will have experience of Injection Moulding processes, NPI projects and assessment of production costs.

Salary:                         £38,000 – £44,500

Shift Pattern:               Days – Monday to Thursday 08:15 to 17:00 & Friday 08:15 to 12:15

Responsibilities for Moulding Engineer:

  • Partake in a project/process engineer role with a specific expertise in moulding
  • Managing projects within the moulding area including automation, NPI / NMI.
  • The role applies technical expertise on assigned projects within the organisation. This would involve developing project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management and creating feasibility studies (return on investment etc.).
  • Assesses production costs and other vital data pertaining to the project, ensuring that the project runs efficiently and on schedule. Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems. Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, planning and scheduling changes and recommending actions.
  • Ensures appropriate handover packages are compiled, generated, and transferred into manufacturing effectively
  • Develops and improves production related processes (internal and external) to improve the efficiency and quality to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery & environmental targets.
  • Conducts process evaluations in accordance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements.
  • Has an understanding of bespoke downstream automation, i.e. inline inspection and assembly processes.

About You:

  • You will be an innovative, self‐motivated and pro‐active Engineer who is driven to succeed.
  • You will ideally be HND / Degree qualified within a engineering/technical field
  • 5 years proven ability in a similar type role.
  • Ideally you will have knowledge and demonstratable experience of design of experiments and statistical process control.
  • Also desirable are formal relevant qualifications (plastics processing and/or materials technology) with a demonstrable track record of completing formal training in plastics processing (BPTA, G&A/RJG or equivalent).
  • You would also be comfortable with technical drawings, as well as having good project and time management skills.
  • A strength in problem solving, fault finding and investigation is also essential.
