Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading equipment manufacturer based in Hereford, who are looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will have experience within a manufacturing environment working days (Monday to Friday).
Salary: £35,000 – £38,000

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the setting, maintenance and upkeep of production machinery, including maintaining the necessary records for each piece of equipment (such as OEM instruction manual, service records, contact information of 3rd party companies for breakdowns and maintenance, etc).
- Responsible for site maintenance including buildings, grounds, alarm systems etc.
- Maintain the necessary records of engineer’s reports; maintenance and 3rd party contact information and work done for each asset.
- Responsible for the creation and subsequent upkeep of a preventive maintenance system.
- Lead member of the Health & Safety committee and have responsibility for keeping the company abreast of new legislation and updating the company’s Health and Safety systems to comply with these. This includes responsibility for the company’s duties under PUWER, LOLER, asbestos management and First aid.
- Responsible for Risk Assessments for the company including COSHH, Manual Handling, Fire and General assessments. This will include ensuring the relevant people are involved in the assessments, where necessary obtaining professional help to carry out the assessments and the associated documentation and record keeping.
- Where 3rd parties are involved, responsible for obtaining appropriate levels of quotes; verifying competence; obtaining method statements, risk assessment and proof of 3rd party liability insurance and control of the contractor whilst on site.
- Assist in the laying out of machinery and plant to maintain or enhance production capabilities.
- Responsible for the procurement of equipment to facilitate manufacture, which includes jigs and fixtures, assembly tooling and fully automated and semi-automated machines.
- Assist in the automation of labour-intensive tasks in production, specifying and making changes as necessary.
- Instrumental in the specifying of new tooling and other capital requirements for the production facility.
- Work within the Company’s operating procedures ensuring that quality standards are maintained.
- Maintain an active task / project list with “customers” expected completion date, feasible start and end dates. Share this regularly with the Site Manager, suggest options for bringing forward tasks that are slipping by use of outside resources, update / reschedule tasks as required, feedback to the “customer” as necessary.
