Multi-skilled Operative – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a Tier 1 Automotive supplier based in Banbury, who are looking for a Multi-skilled Operative to join their growing team. The successful Multi-skilled Operative will have experience of prepping, polishing and painting; ideally previous experience within the automotive industry is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Your key responsibilities are to ensure your equipment is fit for purpose and operational at the start of your shift.
  • Your role will mainly focus on Painting and polishing but can cover all elements of the production life cycle, you should always portray a multi skilled approach to your work.
  • You should always perform the necessary checks dependant on the tasks you are asked to fulfil. Complete any necessary paperwork and report any issues to your Line Manager.
  • You are expected to read and understand all Standard Operating Procedures and work to these without exception, unless advised by management.
  • Your role may include checking incoming parts, loading onto painting fixtures correctly and prepping virgin and primed parts. Where required, you should clean, inspect, polish, pack and label parts accurately
  • Ensure you check for any colour change data on the jig prior to paint.
  • Ensure the required daily workload is completed on time and to the customer and company standard.

About you:

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail.
  • You must be able to adhere to instruction in order that tasks (customer orders) are performed and completed within required timescale to the quality and standard expected and required.
  • You will be customer focused, confident working on own or as part of a team, responsible, committed, and reliable.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in paint application, polish and prep and experience with paint mixing is essential for this role. Post paint inspection would also be beneficial.
  • Previous experience of working with prestige car manufacturing, knowledge of painting/production processes
