We’re supporting our client, a leading global equipment manufacturer based in Banbury, who are looking for a Paint Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Paint Quality Engineer will have experience of 16949, 8D’s, and FMEA’s.
Responsibilities for Paint Quality Engineer:
Safety, Environmental Responsibilities:
- Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
- Comply compliance with IATF 16949.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental & Health & Safety standards in line with current certification.
- Comply with the General Risk Assessments.
- Comply with the Manual Handling Risk Assessments.
- Comply with COSHH Risk Assessments.
- Report accidents and near misses.
- Comply with the Lock out Tag out Procedure (where applicable).
- Comply with the Safe System of Work documents.
- Take appropriate actions in emergency situations.
- Adhere to 5S processes and procedures.
- To ensure all team members wear appropriate PPE.
Quality:
- Participate in internal and external quality focus within area of responsibility.
- Co-ordinate and complete submissions in 8D’s, problem solving and risk management.
- Co-ordinate containments, stock sorts.
- Co-ordinate KPl’s.
- Participate in process audits where required.
- Raise quality care points.
- Ensure quality concerns are fed back into standard operating procedures.
- Feedback into quality fast response board.
- Work with customer quality engineer to close out concerns robustly.
- Update control plans and FMEAs.
- Liaise with other departments regarding quality concerns.
- Make quality decisions on behalf of department and communication to all shifts.
- Manage limit samples.
- Approve process instructions.
- Calibration and development of inspection teams.
- Co-ordinate pre-launch quality activities.
- Support customer and supplier visits.
- Support with process and product audits and coach team members when required.
Timing:
- Ensure all quality decisions are made considering risk to supply and escalate as required.
Cost:
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, availability, maintenance, equipment modifications, plant, error proofing, technical systems and processes and cost down opportunities.
- Participate in projects within the companies CIP scheme.
- Taking fast action to reduce RFT and Yield failures.
- Set limit samples for good decision making by teams.
- Retain reference samples.
- Monitor performance of quality control gates.

- Quality certification
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Six Sigma green belt.
