Process Met QA Engineer – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading global Steel manufacturer based in Canton, OH who are looking for a Process Met QA Engineer or Senior Process Met QA Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Process Met QA Engineer will provide technical and metallurgical representation during both internal and external audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to develop all steelmaking processes that satisfy the metallurgical requirements of our customers, example, surface, shape, and internal quality.
  • Responsible to document said manufacturing processes as the company’s Business Standards and perform associate training, conduct regular reviews to confirm that the process is working as planned and make any necessary changes.
  • Responsible to chair surface quality team meetings and report out to plant management on areas of concern and continuous improvement progress.
  • Provide technical support for both internal and external audits and participate in new business development opportunities.
  • Manage and/or conduct Lean 6-Sigma cost savings and continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform data analysis using statistical techniques to advance quality improvement, manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, and on time delivery.

About You:

Minimum requirements:

  • High School diploma with at least 7 years of heavy industrial and/or mechanical process work experience
  • Associate’s degree in business/engineering with at least 4 years of heavy industrial and/or mechanical process work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 2 years of heavy industrial and/or mechanical process work experience

Preferred requirements:

  • High School diploma with at least 9 years of heavy industrial and/or mechanical process work experience
  • Associate’s degree in business/engineering with at least 6 years of heavy industrial and/or mechanical process work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 4 years of heavy industrial and/or mechanical process work experience
