Job Description

Process Technician

Production:

  • Work together with Process Technicians on all adjacent shifts to provide efficient turnover of operations from one shift to another.
  • Identify potential problems with machinery, moulds, process criteria, and auxiliary equipment and any other item that could interfere with quality requirements and meeting production schedules. Use the red tag system and make recommendation on the repair.
  • Maintain setup sheets and logging process changes on jobs during production.
  • Take responsibility for process set up including moulds setup, press setup. Auxiliary equipment set up and all other requirements to bring a job into production.
  • Perform daily machine, mould and auxiliary equipment preventative maintenance and light maintenance on equipment.
  • Other responsibilities include recording and performing process adjustments, moulding techniques, moulding machine operations, auxiliary equipment operations, monitoring of cycle times, and keeping scrap rates to a minimum.

Communication:

  • Ensure effective shift handover and communicate regularly with the Operations Manager and Shift Leads.
  • Communicate with all shift personnel daily.
  • Speak up by raising any concerns or requests for help

Continuous Improvement:

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems contribution to downtime, inefficiency, and scrap.
  • Support management in developing and maintaining an environment where Continuous Improvement (CI) is the norm and technical and business capability is valued and sustained.
  • Actively support in CI activities and management directed initiatives to improve team and department success.
  • Approach changes with positivity and flexibility, influencing across the business, acting as a feedback channel, and sharing best practice and learnings.

About You:

  • Experience within injection moulding essential.
  • Understanding of process improvements on injection moulding machines
  • Educated to BTEC level 3 in engineering or equivalent experience
