Product Engineer – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading medical device manufacturer based in Warsaw, Indiana who are looking for a Product Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Product Engineer will have experience of working within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include design for manufacture optimization of products, gating and runner design, fixture design, gage design, tool design, and initial process setup.
  • You will also work with representatives from Quality, Process Engineering, Sales, Industrial Engineering, Production Team members, and shop floor workers to achieve your goals; as such, excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Process simulation for design optimization
  • Project manage new product development from quoting to production handover.
  • Design for additive manufacturing processes on rapid prototypes
  • Work directly with customers’ engineering teams in new product development
  • Prepare technical costing on request for quotes.
  • Perform metrology in development and FAI/PPAP stages (including 3D scanning)
  • Preparation of FAI/PPAP documentation

About You:

  • We are looking for recent graduates with a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or similar degree) and 0-3+ years of experience.
  • Must be authorized for full time employment in the US.
  • Great technical skills
  • Creative thinking for design optimization
  • Excellent intrapersonal skills
  • Interested in design, metrology, simulation, and product development.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and deliver on strict timelines.
