Product Sustainability Manager – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading packaging manufacturer based in Milton Keynes, who are looking for a Product Sustainability Manager to join their growing team. The successful Product Sustainability Manager will have experience within the packaging industry.
Salary: £42,000

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring business compliance to UK and EU legislation, related to imported and manufactured products. Covering rigid and flexible plastics, cardboard and paper and moulded fibre products.
- Provide legislative, regulatory and sustainability support on any new material evaluation.
- Developing sustainability strategies and running workshops to raise awareness internally and with customers
- Be the voice of the company for our supporting partners
- Provide advice and guidance on sustainability to the company’s customers
- Collaboration with company Sustainability team to share strategy approach as countries adopt varying policies.
- Developing frameworks for measuring product recyclability and environmental impact
- Assessment of new material offerings / recycling methods via company procurement team for sustainability improvements in the portfolio
- To support NPD and Marketing on LCA analysis for the company and alternative products
- Liaise with customers and retailers to build a constantly evolving VOC
- Identifying funding sources to support the implementation of sustainability projects
- Comply with all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment is maintained.
- Abide by the company’s environmental and quality management procedures.
- Carry out any reasonable duties we request that are within your abilities, irrespective of grade/skill level.

Essential skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and information to internal stakeholders of all levels within the company globally.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven Project Management capabilities.
- Ability to build and develop customer relationships and trust.
- To be computer literate, especially in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project.
- Is conscientious, accurate and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities, and has a professional approach to work.
