Shift Pattern:               7:00 AM – 16:30 PM, Monday – Thursday; Friday: 7:00 AM – 14:00 PM

 

We are currently collaborating with our client in Manchester (who is a specialist in plastic fabrication for a variety of sectors) in their search for a Production Manager.

 

Position Overview: As the Production Manager, your job will be to ensure all production, maintenance targets, and future production needs are realised, and in line with the company’s objectives.

 

Responsibilities for the Production Manager:

  • Provide an annual training plan for supervisors.
  • Complete personal reviews with supervisors and support them in any issues within their job role.
  • Ensure that the site is performing efficiently, and scrap is kept to a minimum.
  • Report any health and safety issues to the operations manager
  • Support the supervisors in the daily allocation of production operators ensuring effective cover across the site.
  • Implement cost saving practices where possible.
  • Implement and support the 5S process throughout the site.
  • To train the supervisors to a good technical standard to enable them to support the operators in their role. Recommend training as and when necessary. Take a proactive approach to coaching, motivation and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Quality – ensure that reject levels and scrap targets are controlled. Identify and agree action plans on non-conforming processes.
  • Control of paperwork – timings being recorded.
  • Production – ensure that all production performance targets are achieved.
  • Application of lean management tools and techniques.
  • Strive for continuous Improvement – identify areas of potential improvement within the manufacturing process. Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Health & Safety – have a responsibility to so far as reasonably practicable, for the health & safety and welfare of all personnel under their control with continued safe working practices along with regular toolbox talks.
