Project Quality Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading automotive components manufacturer based in Banbury, who are looking for a Project Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Project Quality Engineer will have experience of experience delivering projects from nomination phase to start of production.
Salary: Up to £50,000

Responsibilities:
- Assist with new product design and process development.
- Deliver the Quality deliverables of a New launch or running change
- Change management of New and Current products and raising and running change deviations
- Preparation of PPAP package in Magna / customer agreed format and make submission to customer
- Key FMEA team member within the New project launch and for risk reduction activities within production plant
- Generate and update Control Plans with Project/engineering and Production teams
- Establish significant and critical characteristics with the customer and suppliers
- Statistical analyses of results from capability studies and produce reports.
- Liaison with Production Engineering and Project Management during and following analysis to enable process development
- Co-ordination and management of DVP testing, including correlation of results and presentation to customer
- Co-ordination and participation in new gauge / check fixture measurement system analysis including calculations (R&R studies).
- Co-ordinate and obtain fit and finish approval, colour and grain approval along with master samples from customer.
- Work on projects as directed by Quality Manager
- Support trials both in Banbury and at toolmakers / equipment manufacturers to provide required Quality advice and support to achieve Quality deliverables.
- Generate gauge / check fixture specification and agree with customer
- Presentation of dimensional results to customer during build status events
- Review and approval of supplier PPAP package
- Compilation of customer APQP files
- Support defining and managing the scope of the Paint laboratory support function with regard to all AAR process and capability of colour and testing within the plant
Responsibilities:
- Quality Engineering of new product onto site
- Knowledge of quality standards
- Knowledge of key system and process deliverables
- To project a professional image of the company to customers / visitors
- To use the escalation procedure for any issues/concerns e.g. Quality / downtime
Safety, Environmental Responsibilities:
- Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
- Comply compliance with IATF 16949.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental & Health & Safety standards in line with current certification.
- Comply with the General Risk Assessments.
- Comply with the Manual Handling Risk Assessments.
- Comply with COSHH Risk Assessments.
- Report accidents and near misses.
- Comply with the Lock out Tag out Procedure (where applicable).
- Comply with the Safe System of Work documents.
- Take appropriate actions in emergency situations.
- Adhere to 5S processes and procedures.
Quality:
- Raise quality care points.
- Liaise with other departments regarding quality concerns.
- Adhere to standardised working procedures.
- Participate in quality checks and controls.
- Adhere to quality care points.
- Report repeat quality issues.
Timing:
- Ensure all quality decisions are made considering risk to supply and escalate as required.
- Report any issues or concerns to your line manager.
Cost:
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, availability, maintenance, equipment modifications, plant, error proofing, technical systems and processes and cost down opportunities.
- Participate in projects within the companies CIP scheme.
- Taking fast action to reduce customer demerits and cost of quality.
- Use consumables responsibly.

Specific Skills & Experience:
- ONC in engineering or relevant experience
- IATF16949 and APQP process
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Good communication skills
- Good literacy & numeracy skills
- Good analytical skills.
- Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative, and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company.
- Ability to identify different colours of products (i.e. Ishihara).
