Quality Assurance Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading Die Casting Manufacturer based in Wheeling, Illinois who are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Quality Assurance Engineer will have working experience with ISO/IATF 16949.
Salary: $65,000 – $90,000

Shift Pattern: 1st Shift
Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the Quality Manager
- Develops interaction with customer concerning existing and new products
- Responsible to navigate through a customer APQP, understanding what the customer needs for a successful launch of product
- Responsible for working as liaison between Quality and Manufacturing for development of customer standards
- Responsible for providing data to process and engineering on sample production runs
- Responsible for weekly review of customer returned product for disposition of nonconforming product
- Responsible for reviewing / sorting at customer locations any product that is suspect of nonconformances (additional personnel may be required)
- Responsible for maintaining workstation in a state of order and cleanliness at all times
- Knowing and understanding all safety rules pertaining
- Carries out all individual duties and responsibility in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IATF 16949 System and Quality System requirements
- Further Responsibility as defined by the Responsibility and Authority Matrix
About You:
- High School Diploma (College degree preferred)
- Comprehensive Quality Control background
- Experience in Statistical Process Control
- Experience in Geometric Tolerancing
- Experience in Basic Blueprint Reading
- Computer literate including use of Word Processing program
- Interactions with customers
- Experience in the use of basic measuring instruments
- Experience with PPAPs
- Strong communication skills
- Management Training is desirable
- Working experience with ISO/IATF 16949 System Documentation is desirable
- Bilingual – English / Spanish is desirable
- Knowledge of APQP: Process Flow; PFMEA; Control Plan is desirable
- Knowledge of GR&R Studies is desirable
- Knowledge of MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) is desirable
- Knowledge of RPN is desirable
- Team player
- Strong work ethic and decision-making abilities
- Positive Attitude
