Quality Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading automotive manufacturer based in Rubery, who are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Quality Engineer will have experience of creating APQP documentation and carrying out QMS audits within the automotive manufacturing environment
Salary: £40,000 – £43,000

Responsibilities:
- Document creation / update of APQP related documentation in conjunction with the NMI team and customer specific requirements.
- Carry out Quality Management System / Process Audits and assist process owners with corrective/preventative action implementation.
- Assist in Audit Planning.
- Coach and mentor process owners in risk escalation as appropriate and provide competent advice and recommendations.
- Assist in the update of all Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance.
- Provide internal training and coaching to all process owners.
- Competent in the seven basic tools of quality.
- Provide concise, factual and accurate reporting.
- Facilitate 8D problem-solving activities.
- Identify and participate in continuous improvement activities.
About You:
- Qualification in an Engineering discipline to HNC level or equivalent.
- IATF Audit Experience or similar preferred
- Quality related qualifications preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience of working in a similar role
- Experience within manufacturing industry essential (automotive preferred)
- The ideal candidate should be extremely motivated, with a hand on ‘can do’ approach.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
- Ability to take the initiative and make sound judgments in work methods and interpreting goals.
- High attention to details to ensure proper manufacturing, installation, and operation of products.
- Good analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analyses and devise suitable preventive action plans.
- Sincere work ethic for adhering to standards and managing potential harmful effects on timelines and budget, and the ability to operate under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and team-player skills
- Good mathematical skills and proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
