Quality Inspector – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a Tier 1 Automotive supplier based in Banbury, who are looking for a Quality Inspector to join their growing team. The successful Quality Inspector will have experience of Quality Auditing, Inspection and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer specifications and expectations. Ensure you are familiar with the customer and quality specifications for each part.
  • Inspect parts to Customer Standard
  • Complete inspection documentation and record all instances of failure on the appropriate reporting format.
  • Forward results and information to the relevant personnel.
  • Use of end of line test/gauge stations as required
  • Be flexible to support other departments and carry out reasonable tasks as requested by your Manager in line with department/company objectives.
  • Highlight issues which may become cause for reject thus preventing
  • Actual rejects in the future.
  • Make suggestions to improve process and maximise efficiencies.
  • Continually seek ideas for improving daily activities to reduce costs and improve quality. Communicate these ideas to your Manager.
  • Drive and support the requirements to up hold accreditations (eg. TS16949, OHSAS 18001 and ISO14001).
  • Successful liaison with Operations in terms of professional , fact based feedback of non-conformance
  • Be professional in your attitude to the job and in the manner with which you conduct your duties. Always present a professional image when communicating internally and externally.
  • Be committed to your department and continually strive to achieve an excellent working relationship as a supportive team member.
  • Maintain professional and effective relationships with other functions.
  • Always be punctual and reliable. To notify your manager if you are to be late or absent from work due to unforeseen circumstances. To follow Company notification procedures.
  • Liaise with Plant Systems safety manager in analysis of current paint materials and their adherence to current statutory legislation.
  • Keep your area of work clean and tidy at all times. Adhering to the standards of the 5s housekeeping audit, therefore minimising risk to products and employees.
  • Ensure that you understand and comply with Health & Safety at work Regulations at all times.
  • Report all accidents, potential near miss/risk situations and defective equipment

About You:

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail.
  • You should have good communication skills and use of the English Language both verbal and written.
  • You will be willing to develop skills ongoing to satisfy operational requirements and be able to assist with the development and training of others.
  • You must be able to adhere to instruction in order that tasks are performed and completed within required timescale to the quality and standard expected and required.
  • You will be customer focused, confident working on own or as part of a team, responsible, committed, and reliable.
  • You will be required to work shifts so flexibility with regard to working hours is required.
  • Previous experience of working with prestige car manufacturing, knowledge of painting/production processes, previous experience of Right First Time and Yield Targets and previous experience of 5s are desirable for this role.
  • Computer competency including Excel, Outlook, and Word would be appropriate for success in this role.
