Quality Manager – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client – a leading manufacturer providing to a range of industries – based in Winsford, who are looking for a Quality Manager to join their growing team. The successful Quality Manager will have knowledge of ISO standards, implementation, and lean principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine and assure quality and other compliance requirements in accordance with company needs, based on current internal and external regulations.
  • Organise and promote company-wide Quality Assurance and Control compliance and improvement programs.
  • Responsible for planning and execution of internal and external audits
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability of our established Quality Management System according to ISO 9001, 14001 and ISO 22000 if applicable
  • Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators to Senior Management and the wider business, generate quality reports and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure data is collected and effectively analysed using the appropriate statistical methods and is used to improve the business.
  • Manage internal, supplier and customer corrective and preventative actions
  • To communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Interface with NPD for quality planning and delivery of projects to production release – introduction of new work methods, materials, process and equipment.
  • Responsible for basic local testing and co-ordination of calibration.
  • Maintain all production inspection/quality assurance procedures and control plans. Support the team.
  • Drive reduction of Customer complaints and NCP, actively control complaints procedure and corrective actions
  • Part of the corporate audit team
  • Support and guidance of Quality team
  • Interface with customers and suppliers
  • Keep abreast of all local current legislation around quality, food contact safety, plastic tax and coordinate monitoring activities, encompassing audits and quality reports.
  • Co-ordination of the completion of customer questionnaires.
  • Champion and drive Continuous Improvement

About You:

Equipment Used and Technical Expertise Required

  • Must have excellent knowledge of all manufacturing processes, including the inspection, finishing and packaging of injection moulded products.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and change agent
  • Must have a full understanding of CI/Lean principles and tools
  • Use of IT and 3d scanners

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • University level Polymer technology, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or quality management degree is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ISO-standards, experience with ISO implementation
  • Background in QA management
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within Quality Management role, preferable in packaging industry and/or food industry.
  • Excellent team player
  • English speaker and other language skills would be an advantage
  • Pro-active approach and not afraid to change
  • Internal Auditor Certification an advantage
  • Highly IT literate and able to specify and use IT to structure, analyse and present data in a way that leads to the full understanding of the facts.
