Job Title: Quality Technician
Salary: Circa £28,000

Shift Pattern: Days * with flexibility to work some days 11:00am to 8:00pm to cover late shift
We’re supporting our client, a leading Injection Moulder based in Birmingham, who are looking for a Quality Technician to join their growing team. The successful Quality Technician will have experience of Inspecting machinery and equipment, auditing and conducting processes.
Responsibilities for Quality Technician:
- Adhere to company quality awareness.
- Meeting Health and Safety standards supporting others to do the same.
- Work towards continually improving the businesses long term goals towards quality and making improvements.
- Conduct first off and last off checks in line with DVA requirements.
- Check parts on IMD Machine when required.
- Raise a RON (quality alert) when required.
- Support the department with 8D’s.
- Conduct process, layered and despatch audits when requested.
- Support the shop floor with any issues around product quality.
- Occasional off-site inspection when required.
- Any other reasonable duties requested by QM.
- Supporting other departments when required.
- Input SCRAP data into NAV.
- Review of blue scrap bins and completion of scrap labels correctly.
- Review of scrap trolley once daily.
GP12
- Generate GP12 Inspection documents.
- Oversee the GP12 list to ensure each run is being passed off as OK / NOK.
- Feedback to the quality manager on any issues identified.
- Generate GP12 reports.
- Generate product samples from OK and NOK parts found (when required).
Goods Inward
- Generate GIC Instructions ensuring the product delivered meets the drawing.
- Daily checks in line with weekly target.
- Complete GIC register ensuring it is up to date daily to support generation of weekly QC report.
- Escalation of any concerns identified to QM.
- Raising 8D reports with the supplier.
- Oversee supplier performance.
Firewall
- Generate firewall inspection instructions based on issue define by customer.
- Update the firewall and risk lists ensuring they are shared with the business.
- Inspection of all parts through the firewall.
- Ensure any parts deemed NOK are documented and recorded on NAV with relevant NOK code.
- Firewall data collection and generation to ensure weekly QC report can be conducted.
- Containment on site when a customer issue is raised.
