We’re supporting our client, a leading masterbatch manufacturer based in Manchester, who are looking for a Regulatory Technician to join their growing team. The successful Regulatory Technician will have experience of material documentation, regulatory understanding and knowledge & risk assessments.
Position Overview: This diverse role will be responsible for product regulatory affairs and raw material compliance, overseeing aspects of REACh compliance and providing a customer service in the form of safety data sheets and product compliance forms, this will involve interaction with suppliers and customers where appropriate.
Responsibilities for Regulatory Technician:
- Review raw material documentation is correct and up to date and raw material management systems are populated.
- ESG and regulatory liaison with suppliers and customers, providing information in a readily accessible format both written and via presentations.
- Ensure finished goods comply with the intended regulatory legislation and all CLP requirements are in place.
- Authoring in SDS and maintain up to date records.
- Authoring of product compliance documents and complete necessary customer requests in a timely manner.
- Advise the business in advance of relevant legislation changes and guide preparation.
- Monitor and ensure the safe handling of regulated substances (e.g., hazardous, biocides, acids, etc).
- Preparing risk assessments and safe systems of work where necessary.
- Assist in CoSHH Risk Assessments and keeping them up to date.
- Contribute to and drive implementation of the environmental plan.
- Responding to legislative changes and suggest new product development ideas.
- Provide technical sales and customer support on all regulatory aspects.
- Complete Carbon Emissions reporting and create product LCA when required.
- Participate in Trade Association committees as required.
- Assist with the management and auditing of the QMS.
- Build departmental awareness of local regulatory requirements in EU and international markets and provide regulatory advice, guidance, and support to all project teams, as required.
- Maintain and archive regulatory files and registration documentation. Establish, maintain, and update systems for tracking changes in documents submitted to agencies or partners.
About You:
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in a regulatory role in a manufacturing environment. (Experience within the polymer industry would be an additional benefit)
- Understanding of REACh and CLP.
- Experience in REACH IT and IUCLID a benefit.
- Experience in authoring SDS and compliance documents.
- Technical competency, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Familiar with computers and their applications, e.g., Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently to respond quickly to a changing regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and possess strong prioritisation skills to ensure commitments are met.
- Analytical and investigative skills and ability to read and interpret data.
- Good judgement and decision-making skills.
- Ability to act as liaison with other departments.
