We’re supporting our client, a leading global manufacturing and engineering company based in Sheffield, who are looking for a Sales Analyst to join their growing team. The successful Sales Analyst will have experience of customising CRM fields, dashboards, and reports to meet the needs of the sales team and management. As well as troubleshooting and resolving CRM system issues, collaborating with IT support as needed.
Position Overview: As a Sales Analyst, you’ll be responsible for analysing sales data and managing the organisation’s CRM system to drive business growth and improve sales productivity. The role involves collecting and analysing sales data, managing the sales pipeline, reviewing customer information, identifying market trends, and generating detailed reports. Your primary focus will be to develop and implement strategies that enhance sales performance and optimise CRM utilisation.
Responsibilities for Sales Analyst:
- Collect and analyse sales data to assess performance, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
- Review and analyse current customer data to understand buying patterns, customer needs and potential for upselling or cross-selling.
- Analyse market trends and competitive data to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop detailed reports and visualisations to communicate findings and recommendations to sales leadership.
- Oversee the administration of the CRM system, including user management, system configuration, and data integrity.
- Customise CRM fields, dashboards, and reports to meet the needs of the sales team and management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CRM system issues, collaborating with IT support as needed.
- Conduct regular system audits and updates to ensure optimal performance and data accuracy.
- Monitor and manage the sales pipeline to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
- Track the progress of deals through different stages of the pipeline and identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure timely and effective follow-up on leads and opportunities.
- Generate pipeline reports to provide insights into sales forecasts, deal closures and revenue projections.
- Generate and distribute regular sales reports, including performance summaries, pipeline reports and forecast analyses.
- Assist in the development of sales forecasts and budgets based on historical data and market trends.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve sales productivity and effectiveness based on data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to design and execute initiatives that drive revenue growth and customer engagement.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team.
- Provide training and support to sales staff on CRM best practices and usage.
- Monitor and manage customer data within the CRM to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in developing strategies for customer engagement and retention based on CRM insights.
- Work closely with sales, marketing and IT teams to align CRM strategies with organisational goals.
- Support cross-functional projects and initiatives as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sales analysis, CRM administration, or data analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong skills in data analysis, with the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Proficiency in CRM systems with experience in system configuration, user management, and troubleshooting.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to generate reports and dashboards.
- Experience in managing the sales pipeline, tracking deal progress, and generating accurate sales forecasts.
- Strong reporting and presentation skills to communicate insights and recommendations to sales leadership.
- Proven ability to implement process improvements that enhance sales productivity and CRM usage.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve CRM issues and ensure data integrity.
