Senior CMM Programmer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading Die Casting Company based in Wheeling, Illinois who are looking for a Senior CMM Programmer to join their growing team. The successful Senior CMM Programmer will have Program experience using PC DMIS or Calypso.
Salary: $30/hr – $40/hr

Shift Pattern: 1st Shift and 2nd Shift
Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the Director of Quality Assurance
- Responsible for validation of product produced from production tools to meet engineering standards through PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- Is responsible for scheduling all layout activity for layout technicians
- Responsible for scheduling and completion of all End Of Run inspections for Die Cast, CNC, and Secondary operations
- Responsible to obtain sample part weights as define in Sample Part Process
- Responsible to maintain sample bay area in a state of order at all times
- Provide training on CMM’s to personnel as required.
- Responsible for performing MSA (Measuring Systems Analysis) when required
- Responsible for performing SPC (Statistical Process Control) Capability Studies when required
- Is responsible for all First Piece & In-Process checks in CNC, Die Cast, and Secondary departments that require use of CMM (when required).
- Is responsible to perform E.O.R. inspection for CNC, Die Cast and Secondary operation (when required)
- To assist Laboratory Technician in calibration of internal gages as required
- Follows work instructions, control plans and workmanship standards as required
- Responsible for maintaining workstation in a state of order and cleanliness appropriate to the operation they are performing
- Makes out Tooling Work Orders as required
- Communicates nonconformity’s to the appropriate personnel as required
- Knowing and understanding all safety rules pertaining to this job description
- Carries out all individual duties and responsibility in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IATF 16949 System and Quality System requirements.
About You:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 5 Years experience working as a Layout Technician in an Aluminum Die-Casting or related field.
- Experience in Geometric Tolerancing
- Experience in Blue Print Reading
- Computer literate including use of Word Processing program
- Comprehensive Quality background including strong use of all measuring instruments
- CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) experience
- Supervision training experience
- Strong communication skills
- Certified as an ASQ Certified Quality Technician or Certified Quality Engineer is desirable
- Working experience with ISO/IATF 16949 System Documentation is desirable
- Production Part Approval Process is desirable
- SPC (Statistical Process Control) experience is desirable
- MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) experience is desirable
- Bilingual is desirable
- Have complete understanding of Customers Drawings; Tolerances, and Requirements for die cast and machining
- Program using PC DMIS, Calypso is a PLUS
- Must have well-developed communication skills
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
- Leadership and motivation attributes and skills
- Must be willing to be a team player with consideration of other’s ideas and opinions
