We’re supporting our client, who are part of the global leading diamond company based in Oxfordshire, they are looking for a Senior Engineering Technician to join their growing team. The successful Senior Engineering Technician will have experience of working in a heavy industrial setting and have a mechanical bias.

With this role, our client is looking to reinforce the team with an experienced mechanical-oriented engineer who enjoys combining hands-on installation and repair work with contractor management, project work deliveries, and other activities that support the team leadership.

 

Responsibilities for Senior Engineering Technician:

  • Fault finding and problem solving of equipment
  • Hands-on repairs, maintenance, and installation work
  • Contractor management, including inductions, safety plans, and performance evaluation
  • Project manage service, upgrades, and installations
  • Produce risk assessments, operating procedures, and equipment documentation for the team’s needs. Support other team members to produce such documentation to a high standard.
  • Review procedures, work practices, and maintenance plans for improved cost effectiveness
  • Demonstrate professionalism, quality awareness, and an active engagement for high safety standards
  • Actively seek to develop depth and breadth of skills

 

About You:

  • NVQ, HNC, B.Tec or similar formal qualifications in an engineering-based discipline
  • Experienced and proficient in upkeep and fault finding on mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, preferably with additional engineering skills in areas such as hydraulics, vacuum systems and pneumatics.
  • PLC experience would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experienced in safe contractor management – desirable but not essential
  • Good general understanding of health, safety, and quality standards and ability to carry out risk assessments and write operating procedures to a high standard
  • Good communication skills within a team environment when working under pressure.
  • Good IT skills with proficiency in standard office software and relevant software for data acquisition, treatment, and processing.
