Shift Pattern: Four on four off shift pattern.
We’re currently supporting our client (a specialist in moulding and sealing solutions) who is looking for a Shift Engineer for their manufacturing site in Hereford. The successful Shift Engineer will have mechanical and electrical maintenance experience within a production/manufacturing environment and will have knowledge of PLC-controlled systems.
Position Overview: As a Shift Engineer, you will be a vital part of the operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of plant equipment and facilities. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and optimising the machinery, contributing to efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities for Shift Engineer:
- Ensure continued safe and efficient operation of all machines, plant, and equipment.
- Provide engineering support and guidance to ensure shift priorities and planned production targets are met, meeting both department and individual KPIs.
- Participate in planned preventative maintenance (TPM) alongside your day to daily activities.
- Get involved in CI projects, equipment development, and machine installs.
- Work alone as well as part of a team.
About You:
- Time served apprentice – mechanical and electrical experience is essential
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience of maintenance of a variety of production equipment .
- Experience of working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good communicator, both written and verbal.
- Can work under own supervision or as part of a team.
- Experienced in fault finding / diagnostics on PLC-controlled equipment
- A positive and resilient approach to problem solving, team working, and continuous improvement.
- A ‘can-do’ attitude and proactive approach
