Toolmaker
Responsibilities:
- To produce a high quality product operating a range of manual milling machines and lathes ensuring quality workmanship at all times in addition to programming, setting and operating the CNC Machines.
- To maintain and improve productivity, work in line with company procedures and machine capability to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Programme, set and operate CNC machines. Must have ability to programme using ProtoTrack and Heidenhain control systems.
- Ability to operate manual milling, turning and drilling machines.
- Manufacturing of jigs and fixtures.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, carrying out first off inspections is essential.
- Ensure that production quality and output levels are optimised at all times.
- Re-enforce the department’s positive approach to knowledge sharing and supporting apprentices/trainees.
- As a senior member of the Machining team you will be required to provide an input into new processes and procedures and actively work to implement these.
- Liaise with the Engineering department to ensure smooth running of the Machining function.
- Be the Apprentice mentor for manufacturing, coaching new members of the team and assisting in their development as required.
- Carry out any other duties reasonable within capability including possible secondment to work in other areas on the shop floor.
- Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Management team.

About You:
- Proven experience of CNC programming, setting and operating
- Proven experience in Toolmaking utilising manual machines
- A flexible approach to work and have a keen interest in developing new skills and supporting the wider business as required.
- Organised, focused and able to adopt a high level of attention to detail within your work.
- Must be self-motivated and guarantee safe working at all times.
- A good communicator, prepared to work as part of a team.
- Excellent attendance record and timekeeping.
- Willingness to travel regularly in UK and worldwide as required
- Valid driving licence and passport essential
