Website Copywriter & Social Media Manager
They require an experienced copywriter to join the team, taking responsibility for writing product descriptions, category page content, informative articles and blog posts across seven websites plus additional content for email marketing and social media. The role also encompasses organic social media management, making regular posts across the channels of our five brands and responding to comments (NB. This is not a customer service role and any customer queries will be passed to other staff).
The Person
We’re looking for someone who loves writing and has experience of creating copy for websites and social media in an ecommerce retail business. You will also be used to creating and posting content to social media for a retail business, including selecting posts from other accounts to share and responding to user comments. Whilst these activities will ultimately be overseen by the digital marketing director, we expect a high degree of autonomy in this role and thus a good degree of self-confidence and attention to detail is required.
The role would particularly suit someone who has an interest in home décor and property development, happy to keep up with current trends and with an underlying knowledge of the sector
Skills & Experience Requirements:
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum one year of experience working in a similar role (writing for an ecommerce website and dealing with social media for a retailer)
- Excellent written skills, including impeccable spelling and grammar
- A creative approach ready to contribute ideas to the content and marketing strategy
- Comfortable uploading content using content management systems (including but not limited to WordPress)
- Familiarity with using all major social media platforms in a B2C business context, including post scheduling and activity monitoring
- Great time management skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to take direction
- Strong research skills
- An understanding of SEO
- Basic photo editing skills (e.g. cropping and resizing)
- A willingness to stay up-to-date, learn and experiment with social media technology
The Package
Salary: £25k-30k depending on experience
Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week, minimum two days per week in our Derby office
