We’re supporting a leading HVAC manufacturer in Archdale, NC, who are looking for a Materials & Inventory Supervisor to join their growing team.
If you have experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management, this is a great opportunity to take ownership of materials flow and drive operational performance.
 

Job Summary:

As Materials & Inventory Supervisor, you’ll take full responsibility for material accuracy, availability, and flow across the business.
You’ll lead Purchasing, Receiving, and Order Entry, ensuring materials are ordered correctly, received accurately, and available on time to support uninterrupted production.
This role focuses on eliminating shortages, improving inventory accuracy, and building a system production can rely on.
 
Responsibilities:

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Own all purchasing activity across the business
  • Align purchasing with production demand and stocking strategy
  • Manage supplier performance (lead time, quality, responsiveness)
  • Drive cost control through smarter, more efficient ordering

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Own inventory accuracy across systems and physical stock
  • Eliminate discrepancies, negative inventory, and duplicate transactions
  • Maintain optimal stock levels to support production
  • Lead cycle counts, audits, and variance resolution

Receiving & Material Flow

  • Ensure all materials are received, verified, and booked in accurately
  • Enforce standards for quantities, part matching, and documentation
  • Maintain clean, organised material flow from dock to inventory

Production Support

  • Ensure materials are ready before jobs are released
  • Coordinate with production and scheduling teams
  • Eliminate material shortages and delays impacting output

Order Entry & Systems

  • Ensure order data is accurate and aligned with inventory
  • Maintain clean system data for planning and reporting
  • Prevent errors that cause downstream production issues

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead Purchasing, Receiving, and Order Entry teams
  • Set clear expectations for accuracy, speed, and accountability
  • Train, develop, and manage team performance
  • Implement standard processes and eliminate inefficiencies
