We’re partnering with a leading plastics manufacturer in Freeport, NY, seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support plant operations and lead maintenance activities. This role is ideal for someone with strong general maintenance experience and hands‑on knowledge of injection molding machinery.
Role Overview
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee all electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility maintenance across the plant. You’ll manage repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment uptime, and vendor relationships while ensuring compliance with safety standards such as OSHA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Equipment Repair – Maintain and repair molding machines, robots, grinders, chillers, thermolators, dryers, glue machines, shrink‑wrap systems, air compressors, well water systems, and other plant equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance – Plan, schedule, execute, and document PM activities for all machinery and facility systems.
- Facility Maintenance – Perform building repairs including HVAC filters, plumbing fixtures, lighting, emergency lights, exhaust fans, and general upkeep.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination – Maintain strong relationships with electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing contractors; obtain estimates and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Inventory Management – Oversee spare parts inventory, order supplies, and manage toolroom and manufacturing materials.
- Safety Compliance – Ensure all equipment has proper guarding and that maintenance activities follow company and OSHA safety standards.
- Special Projects – Support the Plant Manager with assigned projects and operational improvements.
About You:
- 5–10 years as a general maintenance mechanic.
- 3–5 years working with injection molding machines.
- Strong aptitude in electrical circuits, mechanical systems, hydraulics, HVAC, plumbing, and pneumatics.
- Solid understanding of plant and facility maintenance.
- Knowledge of take‑out robots is a plus.
- Comfortable using MS Office and ERP systems.
- Skilled in inventory management and placing purchase orders.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
