Are you experienced in Tube Bending, Wire Bending, or End Forming processes? Do you enjoy hands-on technical work, problem-solving, customer interaction, and travel? Our client, a leading manufacturer in the metal forming industry, is looking for an Applications Technician to join their growing team in Novi, Michigan.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced tube and wire forming technologies, helping customers take concepts from design through to production while delivering exceptional technical support and training.

 
What You’ll Be Doing:

As an Applications Technician, you will play a key role in developing, testing, installing, and supporting customer applications and equipment.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, validate, and optimise customer parts and programs.
  • Install, set up, and program machines and tooling for customer applications.
  • Perform machine installations and commissioning at customer sites.
  • Support customers throughout implementation and post-installation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing, validation, and installation.
  • Analyse customer drawings and assess application feasibility.
  • Work closely with Sales and Pre-Sales teams to recommend machine features, accessories, and software solutions.
  • Conduct machine acceptance testing and customer run-off trials.
  • Install and remove machine components in line with project requirements.
  • Deliver customer training on tube and wire forming equipment.
  • Support customer demonstrations and solution centre activities when required.
  • Maintain exceptional customer relationships through outstanding service.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Travel extensively across customer locations as required.

 
What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in Tube Bending, Wire Bending, and/or End Forming processes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Strong electrical aptitude and understanding of electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Strong communication and customer-facing abilities
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record

 

Desirable Skills

  • Technical certification or training in Manufacturing, Engineering, Design, or a related field
  • Experience with CAD software such as: SolidWorks, Solid Edge or AutoCAD
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Knowledge of bending tool design and application processes
  • Fluency in Italian and/or Spanish
