We’re supporting our client, a leading food manufacturer based in Maspeth, New York who are looking for an Automation Technician to join their growing team. This is a newly created position due to continued investment across the facility, including the introduction of new automated production equipment, packaging lines, and robotics. You’ll work closely with a skilled maintenance team of three and play a key role in improving machine reliability, automation performance, and overall plant efficiency.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in maintenance, automation, reliability, and industrial machinery who enjoys both hands-on engineering and technical problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance across production equipment
- Diagnosing machine faults and implementing effective solutions
- Supporting machine upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- PLC troubleshooting and programming
- Working with automated packaging lines and robotic systems
- Assisting with commissioning and integration of new equipment
- Improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime
- Collaborating with operations and engineering teams to optimize plant performance
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience within manufacturing, automation, or industrial maintenance environments
- Strong understanding of machinery, controls, and reliability practices
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
- Exposure to robotics and automated production systems
- Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
