Controls Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading conveyor manufacturer to the automotive industry based in Auburn Hills, MI who are looking for a Controls Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Controls Engineer will have experience of working within the conveyor industry

Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of electrical engineers designing all types of conveyor components and systems.
- Interface with project engineering/management to verify equipment requirements.
- Liaising with electrical and software engineers and vendors in product development.
- Attending design reviews, and customer job-site meetings, when required.
- Travel to customer meetings, manufacturing vendors or job sites.
- Provide technical support to project managers, equipment assemblers and site supervisors.
- CAD Design, development and engineering from a conceptual idea.
- Perform duties of the mechanical engineer or designer when requested.
About You:
- Thorough understanding of 24v DC, 120v AC, 240v AC, and 480v AC electrical circuits, in both single and three phase.
- Thorough understanding of VFD motor controls.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Ability to manage time and priorities.
- Ability to be a great team player who works well with our customers, company management and the project team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willing to travel within North America including Mexico up to 25% of the time.
- Conveyor Systems for the Automotive Manufacturing.
- Familiar with GM, Ford, and FCA Electrical Controls Standards.
- 4 Year Engineering Degree.
- Minimum of three years experience designing PLC Systems.

- Control RS Logix 5000
- ArmorStart Motor Controllers
- Powerflex Drives
- DeviceNet and Ethernet communications
- PLC programming
- Control Logix and Guard Logix programming
- Panelview programming
