We’re supporting our client, a leading food company based in Newport (TF10), who are looking for an Engineering Stores Controller to join their growing team. The successful Engineering Stores Controller will have experience of implement and co-ordinate best practice inventory management system and processes to deliver the required customer service levels.

As part of the company’s team the Engineering Stores Controller / Maintenance Scheduler

will report to the Engineering Manager The working hours will be Monday – Friday 8.00am-5.00pm. There may be times when you are requested to work additional hours, to provide support and cover for colleagues during their absences.

To implement and co-ordinate best practice inventory management system and processes to deliver the required customer service levels whilst ensuring spares are obtained at the most cost-effective price.

 

Responsibilities for Engineering Store Controller/ Maintenance Scheduler:

  • Spare parts and refurbishment management (implementation of supporting systems and COSHH compliance).
  • Tracking and reporting stores performance through CMMS, to include stock accuracy and turnover.
  • Complete regular cycle counts and full stock counts.
  • Optimise Engineering stock spares holding in line with inventory management and criticality analysis.
  • Improve parts description.
  • Manage engineering materials location vis CMMS.
  • Monitor, recommend and improve the minimum and maximum order points.
  • Key system user responsible for materials, Material group codes , new suppliers.
  • Actively seek to deliver most cost effective and efficient spare parts / inventory solutions.
  • Process and ensure accuracy of all purchase request information.
  • Owner of 5s for engineering stores.
  • Visual management process.
  • Manage supplier delivery performance.
  • Develop inventory management improvement techniques.
  • Health and safety of self and others.
  • Owner of Purchase Order Process
  • Understand the impacts of own actions and others on achieving site objectives.
  • Health and Safety of self and others
  • Identification of obsolete stock
  • Liaison with Engineering projects to capture and cater for incoming parts requirements to ensure availability.
  • Responsible for Scheduling daily / weekly / Monthly maintenance plans
  • Effective stores management to align planned schedule with material lead times.
  • Review maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness.

 

About You:

  • Must have CMMS experience.
