We’re supporting our client, a leading plastics manufacturer based in Hemingway, South Carolina who are looking for an Extrusion Manager to join their growing team. The successful Extrusion Manager will have experience in a production environment using three layer blown film equipment and reprocessing.
Job Summary:
As an Extrusion Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the production of quality film to the converting lines and reprocessing of scrap to produce quality repro for the extrusion department.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures Safety and quality are at or above company standards
- Develop and implement written procedures for operating extrusion and reclaim equipment
- Develop and maintain a PM program for the extrusion and reclaim department
- Reviews colorant and additives purchase
- Follows up after purchase
- Makes sure resin and repro inventories are correct
- Schedules and writes all film recipes
- Oversees training and staffing in all aspects of extrusion and reprocessing departments
- Helps team members with day-to-day problems
- Troubleshoots all problems in extrusion and reprocessing
- Orders parts and supplies as needed
- Helps with conversion issues as it pertains to film
- Develop and manages optimum process conditions for the extrusion and reclaim departments
- Work with other departments and managers to reduce scrap generated in extrusion to 7% of total pounds produced yearly.
About You:
- Five or more years of experience in a production environment using three layer blown film equipment and reprocessing
- Experience with material blending, and purchasing resins, concentrates and additives.
- Familiar with Keifel, Reifenhauser, and NGR equipment
- High school diploma required
- Possesses a mechanical ability
