Shift Pattern:               Monday to Friday – 90-100% Travel Across the USA
 
Our client, a market‑leading metal manufacturer in the USA, is expanding their service team and seeking an experienced Field Service Technician. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, hands‑on equipment experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
 
What You’ll Do:

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be the on-site expert supporting customers with:

  • Installation of new equipment at customer locations
  • Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs
  • Accurate documentation of all service work and future service needs
  • Demonstrating equipment software and capabilities to customers
  • Supporting the sales team with technical service requirements
  • Preparing timesheets, service reports, installation forms, and expense reports
  • Maintaining a safe working environment in line with OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines
  • Collaborating with internal departments to resolve customer issues
  • Working overtime when required based on customer needs
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management

 
What You Bring:

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong, customer‑focused, and highly organized:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in a technical field preferred (or equivalent military experience)
  • 2–4 years’ experience in a similar technical role
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
  • Ability to travel up to 100%
  • Experience with Trumpf, Amada, Mazak, or similar laser machinery
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong internet navigation skills
  • Ability to understand and use I/O structures for troubleshooting
  • Skilled in using electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment
  • Ability to analyze and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Strong technical reading comprehension (manuals, digital documentation)
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Effective team player with strong customer relationship skills
  • Italian language skills are a plus, but not required
