HR Officer – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading manufacturer based in Basildon, who are looking for a HR Officer to join their growing team. The successful HR Officer will ideally have experience of recruitment, payroll, and onboarding of employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Assistant will be an HR generalist, supporting the recruitment, onboarding and life cycle of the employee.
  • Administer 3 and 6 month probation process for joiners
  • Assist HR Manager with update and adherence of Policies and Procedure
  • Assist with implementation and administration of new HR Information System
  • Monitor and record employee holidays
  • Assist with training requirements
  • Produce HR related letters and communications as required
  • Provide guidance and direction on employee relations matters

Payroll

  • Collate payroll information for outsourced payroll provider
  • Resolve pay related issues
  • Liaise with managers to obtain accurate time and attendance

Recruitment

  • Liaise with Managers to ascertain staff requirements
  • Post Job specifications via Indeed, Agencies, social media platforms and LinkedIn
  • Review Job Description for the role
  • Assist with interviewing potential candidates
  • Ensure IT and equipment requirements are in place
  • Right to work checks
  • Referencing

Onboarding

  • Prepare and send offer letters and contracts
  • Prepare all induction paperwork for payroll and e-files
  • Carry out Induction Meetings
  • Ensure all required paperwork is returned and filed

About You:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ generalist experience within an HR department
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • Good understanding of employment legislation and regulations
  • The ability to prioritise workload
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and reliability
  • Proactive and innovative
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • The ability to work well and accurately
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Appropriate personal appearance
  • Experience within manufacturing is an advantage
