Job Description

Injection Moulding Setter – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading UK based manufacturer based in Barnstaple, who are looking for an Injection Moulding Setter to join their growing team. The successful Injection Moulding Setter will have experience of tool setting, tool changes, process optimisation and troubleshooting injection moulding machines.

Job Start date:            ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Tool changing on shift as per priority sheets in a safe & professional manner in
  • accordance with current procedures
  • Records all tooling issues in the log provided.
  • Ensures all cleaning procedures are followed with tools returned to the tool stores in a safe & tidy manner.
  • Ensures that machines are left in a clean & tidy manner with all the required documentation provided for the operator.
  • Completes setting sheets & records variations on process log.
  • Completes machine safety check log when tool change is complete.
  • Ensures all ancillary equipment required is in place in a safe condition & ready for use.
  • Ability to work within advised production plans to insure tool availability.
  • Organise resource available to best fit production needs.
  • Rapid response to tool failure.
  • Liaise with outside facilities to effect repairs beyond the capacity or scope of our workshop or personnel.
  • To establish and maintain a safe working environment.

About You:

Essential

  • Working knowledge of Plastics moulding tools.
  • Appreciate the care area’s on mould tools especially shut out’s.
  • Hands on maintenance type experience. Car maintenance etc
  • Understand mould construction.
  • Ability to teamwork effectively across several area/site location
  • Ability to drive appropriate
  • General engineering practices.
  • Housekeeping and hygiene.

Desirable

  • Ability to read tool drawings.
  • Mould tool maker or press tool setter.
  • Mould tool maker or press tool setter.
  • Ability to take over and manage tool setting operation both technically and from a financial aspect.
