Injection Moulding Technician – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading global manufacturer based in Milton Keynes, who are looking for an Injection Moulding Technician to join their growing team. The successful Injection Moulding Technician will have previous experience working within an Injection Moulding environment setting and operating machines.
Salary: £34,000

Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety; operate within and help maintain, monitor and drive forward Health and Safety practices and ethos.
- Production: ensure the efficient running of production lines and site services
- Maintenance: develop and adhere to planned maintenance programme
- Continuous Improvement: contribute to ongoing continuous improvement projects
- Quality: ensure parts are manufactured to the correct standards and component quality
- Administration: ensure that site records and reports are maintained and kept up to date
- Process Technician will be able to work with a high level of autonomy and assist in the training of other staff
- Perform a key role in the assessment, implementation, monitoring and training in relation to site Health and Safety policies, procedures and ethos.
- Ensure high standards of safety in the production area by conducting regular safety checks of machinery and action repairs/improvements to guarding, etc.
- Ensure good standard of housekeeping by maintaining a ‘Clean as you Go’ approach.
- Good understanding and implementation of safe systems of work and risk assessment
- Coordinate the timely and efficient change-over of production lines from one item to the next, including mould changes, colour changes, plate / cavity changes, assembly / liner changes etc.
- By continued observation, locate and rectify line blockages and machine stoppages.
- Coordinate the rectification of machine breakdowns / stoppages to ensure ongoing production (this may include site call-out’s while not on shift for urgent production issues).
- Assist in the development of a planned maintenance programme
- Identifying and analysing faults causing machine stoppages or under performance, and making repairs/improvements.
- The job holder will contribute to ongoing continuous improvement projects.
- Action improvements to the performance of injection moulding and assembly machine on an ongoing basis, with a view to increasing output, improving quality and reducing spoilage.
- Monitor and take action on Line Efficiency reports to improve overall factory outputs
- Adherence to all quality controlled documents, policies and procedures including SWP, SOP and WI’s
- Ensure parts are manufactured to the correct standards and component quality
- Maintain quality standards by making necessary adjustments and modifications to machinery
- Be aware of company strategy and how individual and team goals impact this.
- This is a key role for the site as this roles helps ensure the smooth, efficient and effective running of the production site, with a key focus on the continuous drive to improve the site Health and Safety.
- Completion of controlled documentation to include:
– Production Change Reporting (first off’s, last off’s process changes etc.)
– Hold Notice Corrective Actions
– Line Shutdown Records
– Maintenance Check Records
– PM records
About You:
- Effective time management, focus and communication are required.
- Communicate and work with all teams including management, operators, maintenance, and quality to meet goals with the overall running of the factory
- Supporting external contractors
- Liaise with customers and suppliers
- Relevant i.e. polymer training
- Knowledge of injection moulding processes, techniques and implementation
- Experience of working in a similar injection moulding environment
- Good analytical and practical skills
- A logical and methodical approach to their duties
