Job Description

We’re supporting our client, a leading global food producers, packers and processers based in Los Molinos, California who are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Manager will have experience of working within a similar environment as a Maintenance Manager.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for guiding repairs from discovery to completion. The manager must communicate with production supervisors in the respective area, as well as higher level employees such as senior leaders and management as needed. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for detailing budgetary aspects for repairs, shop supplies, tools, and equipment. Work with all companies to provide support on projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and coordinate repairs to processing machinery, buildings, and other equipment.
  • Work with Engineering and Project team in new equipment installations and setups.
  • Optimize equipment electrical and mechanical functions for performance.
  • Administer preventive maintenance plan.
  • Learn entire walnut manufacturing process.
  • Be on call for support of operations including harvest each year.
  • Effective time management and prioritization of work.
  • Maintaining project files.
  • Assistance in the development of manufacturing and installation.
  • Be involved in project reviews and spend time with operators to gain knowledge of equipment use and function.
  • Provide technical leadership to mechanics and maintenance staff.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Monitor operational expenses and research ways to reduce costs and downtime.
  • Work closely with quality control personnel to ensure HACCP and GMP standards are being upheld during routine maintenance and operations procedures.
  • Responsible for operational compliance of food safety regulations, OSHA regulations, and any other regulatory
  • Be available for support during inspections.
  • Maintain needed certifications to support facility functions: HACCP, Pest Control, and Fumigation.
  • Maintain plant conditions at a top-level quality and take ownership of the overall plant appearance.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and see them through to a resolution. Be available by phone to assist as needed throughout the year.
  • Assist in managing vendors, contractors and budgets related to facility projects and improvements.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
